Soils

ATS – Amended Top Soil

ATS Amended Top Soil

Uses: Commercial/Residential – Banks, Planters, Yards, etc.

In vegetable gardens: Spread a six to twelve inch layer of amended topsoil on the ground. Work the amended topsoil into the native soil to a depth of six inches. Rake the area smooth for excess water to runoff.

In raised planters: Fill the planters up half way and then water heavily to settle the soil. Continue to fill the planter up to within a few inches of the top. Water the soil heavily again to settle the soil and to reduce the shrinkage that results from compaction.

In landscaped areas: Fill in any holes or depressions that occur in the landscape. Be sure to work the topsoil into the native soil and water to settle the area. Rake to level the grade and, if necessary, add additional topsoil as needed.

In above ground planters: Be sure to consult the Architectural Engineer on the load factors that the building will allow before installing any soil above the ground level.
